Ophthalmology

The department has a team of specialists using modern techniques and equipments for eye examination and surgery.

The department is equipped with all the necessary modern equipments like:

•  Hi - Resolution slit lamp (Japan) for - examination of eyes
•   Computerized Keratometer (ophthalmometer) for measuring the curvature of the anterior surface of the cornea , particularly for assessing the extent and axis of astigmatism.
•   Autorefractometer for quick checkup of patients' refractive error
•  A - scan biometer to determine eye length for calculation of intraocular lens power.
•  Phacoemulsification machines (OPTIKON Italy and NIDEK Japan) - for cataract treatment with foldable / multifocal lens implantation and retinal disease.
•  Applanation tonometer (Japan) - for measurement of intra ocular tension / pressure.
•  Computerized perimeter- for measuring visual field.
•  Operating microscope (NIPPON Japan and Tkagi Japan)
•  Direct and Indirect ophthalmoscopes - Wellch Allyn USA

Facility for video angiography for retinal disease is also available fo. The department offers in depth study of cases suffering from Cataract, Glaucoma, and Low vision.

Facilty of Optical shop for spectacles is also provided with in the department.
