Department of Nephrology

This Department caters to the Kidney related problems including dialysis. The department is a well equipped Hemo-dialysis Unit with 10 latest Fresenious machines. Water for dialysis is provided by Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. A facility for bicarbonate dialysis is available in three shifts with arrangement to provide emergency dialysis round the clock and a separate dedicated machine for critically ill patients is available in ICUs for bedside dialysis.

The dialysis is managed by residents round the clock, under supervision of a Senior Nephrologist.

The Department has also facilities for initiating patients for Continuous Ambulatory Pentoneal Dialysis (CAPD). In addition, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) is also being done.

A significant number of patients of Post Kidney Transplant have been visiting the Department for follow-up at NMH.
